THE DOOMSDAY WALL

Terms

Last updated: September 21, 2026

The Doomsday Wall is a public wall of last words at doomsdaywall.com, run by The Doomsday Wall. By posting a note or buying a Gold note you agree to these terms. They are short, and they say what the site actually does.

What this is

A joke built on a date. A 1960 paper in Science, "Doomsday: Friday, 13 November, A.D. 2026", projected a population "singularity" for that day. None of it means the world ends. The wall is not a prediction, and nothing on it is advice.

Your notes are public

Everything you post is public the moment it goes up: your words, the name you sign with, your stickers and paper color, and on a Gold note who it is for. Anyone can read it, link to it, share its picture and keep a copy, and it stays up in the archive after the wall closes. Don't post anything you wouldn't want the whole internet to read.

Your words stay yours. Posting them lets us show them on the wall, on the note's own page, in the list of every note and in its share pictures, for as long as the site is up.

There are no accounts, so a note can't be edited once it's up. Want one of yours taken down? Email us its link. For a Gold note, Refunds says what happens to the money.

What you can't post

No hate, threats or harassment. No spam or ads. Nothing illegal. No one's private information: no phone numbers, addresses, emails, ID numbers, or anything else that would let a stranger find a private person, you included. A first name, a signature or a "for Ana" is fine.

What comes down

We take down hate, spam and private info, and anything else that breaks these terms. We can remove any note at any time, without warning or explanation. If you see one that shouldn't be there, email us its link.

If we remove a Gold note, you get your money back.

Gold notes

A Gold note is a note on gold paper, in the Gold Zone, with a number of its own. What it gets is on the wall, under "What's a Gold note?".

It's a one-time payment: no account, no subscription, nothing that renews. The price is shown before you pay. Stripe takes the payment on its own checkout page, so your card number goes to Stripe and never reaches us, and your note goes up as soon as the payment clears. If a paid note can't go up, we refund it in full. Your words stay the same: a Gold note can't be edited after you pay.

Gold notes are a numbered edition of 100. No number is ever given out twice, even after its note comes down.

Refunds

Changed your mind? Email us within 7 days of buying a Gold note and we'll refund it in full, no questions asked. Send the note's link, or the email address you paid with, so we can find the payment.

When a Gold note is refunded, the gold comes off: a note bought as Gold comes down from the wall, and a note made Gold later goes back to being a free note and stays on the wall. Either way, its number is never given out again. The money goes back the way you paid; your bank decides how long it takes to show up.

After those 7 days the sale is final. If you ask us then to take your own Gold note down, it comes down without a refund. The one exception is a Gold note we remove ourselves: you still get your money back.

When the countdown ends

At 00:00 UTC on November 13, 2026, the wall closes: no new notes and no new Gold notes. A payment already under way by then still goes through, and its note joins the wall. From then on the wall is a permanent, read-only archive, and the notes on it stay public.

No guarantees

The site is provided as is. It can go down, change, or break. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for anything that comes from using it, and never for more than you paid us.

Privacy

What we keep about you, and why, is on the Privacy page.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The terms on this page when you post or pay are the ones that apply.
